We're just days away from the Super Bowl, and that means we're taking a look back at one of our favorite performances from halftime show's of the past.
This year marks 10 years since Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers took to the stage for the Super Bowl XLII halftime show at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Petty tragically passed away latel east year. Petty was rushed to the hospital in October in cardiac arrest. The 66-year-old rock legend died shortly after. Earlier this month, the local Medical Examiner's office revealed Petty died of an accidental overdose.
Petty and his band performed a ton of their smash hit songs to the audience's delight. The setlist for the incredible show included "American Girl," "I Won't Back Down," "Free Fallin," and "Runnin' Down a Dream."
The New York Giants went on to win the game, but it is safe to say that the performance was a total win for Petty too. He didn't miss any of the notes and watching the audience sing along was truly incredible.
